Coming Home
Coming home seems like an easy path that you have traveled countless times in the past two decades. This time it included a transatlantic move, remodeling of a new home studio space, adopting a dog, reconnecting with family and community, and dipping back into teaching both former students and new friends. As an artist, it also means digging into a new project and body of work! Needless to say, it has been a very busy four months!

Chronicles of the Landscape: traveling artist blog #1 - My path as an artist has been anything but the traditional career trajectory most people follow in their lives. My journey has had more of a resemblance to the rugged mountain trails, meandering rivers, and steep sea cliffs that I love to explore with sketchbook, camera, or easel and paint, seeking out my next inspiring composition as a landscape artist. How else could the path of a single mom of three and visual art/educator from a tiny rural town in the mountains unfold but with many blind turns, natural obstacles, rolling waves, and crashing storms along the way--each of which has taught me essential lessons and helped me grow as both an artist and human being
